Tiki Talk Series for 2012
Captain Jim Sharp will be at the helm as Master of Ceremonies- Meg and Bruce will be slaving away in the galley, preparing a swimmingly good BOUILLABAISSE and dessert. Gladys will graciously greet you at the gangway to our library.
Captain Jim Sharp will be speaking!! His subject is
"The Quest for Longitude"
This was the most sought after solution of the 18th century. Imagine yourself approaching the English Channel with the responsibility of five of His Majesties finest, voluptuous, heavily armed warships and feeling your way carefully through 12 days of dungeon thick, murky English fog, without the least notion of your longitude? The ledges swept up under their keels and sunk them in minutes with the loss of 2000 souls.
You can use your GPS—but we'll tell you how they did it in the 1700s.
So come and enjoy a wonderful evening at Chapman's.
A great evening's entertainment for $10.00 – RSVP by Wednesday, March 7th – Call Doria 772-283-8130 or email doria.castle@chapman.org
We would also like to take this opportunity to THANK YA'LL for supporting this season's Tiki Series. Your Tiki crew enjoyed being your hosts!!!!
