The Chapman School of Seamanship, located in Stuart, Florida, has more than four decades of experience in training students from around the world in areas of mariner training such as navigation, seamanship, boat handling in power and sail and the nautical information needed for licensing in pursuit of a career as captain or crew. We also offer STCW 95, a separate course in USCG licensing from OUPV to 200 Ton Masters and Yacht Surveying. In addition, we are an approved American Sailing Association (ASA) facility.
Whether you want to go down to the sea in ships to cruise the world in a cabin cruiser or enjoy boating on your own waters as a recreation, Chapman School offers mariner training, power boating and sailing for youth and adults.We offer ASA sailing lessons for levels 101 to 107. This includes certification in boating basics, coastal cruising, bareboat chartering, coastal navigation and advanced coastal cruising.Our recreation programs also offer certification training in Florida Boating Basics.
To ensure that all classes are scheduled to most efficiently utilize the talents and availability of the School's instructors; and in cooperation with the Admissions Office, maintain all student academic and related training activity records. Coordinate the curriculum to insure standardized instruction. Work as a liaison with the USCG in record keeping. If Captain licensed, fill in as a substitute teacher for the classroom and boat handling classes.
