Professional
Mariner Training (PMT) - This prestigious
program provides graduates the valuable skills necessary
for a career in both the commercial and pleasure yacht
sectors of the marine industry. For experienced
mariners, the PMT program opens new doors and
advancement opportunities. For those with little
or no experience, the Chapman School diploma provides a
high degree of credibility among prospective employers.
When combined with our highly successful job placement
assistance, Professional Mariner Training provides a
competitive edge for those seeking employment in a
highly specialized field. Upon successful
completion of PMT, graduates may choose 160 days sea
time or with sufficient sea time qualify for a U.S.
Coast Guard license up to Master 100 Gross Tons.

Yacht
& Small Craft Surveying (YSCS) -
Dubbed "The Industry Standard," this program will
prepare you to enter the field of marine surveying as a
confident professional. You will be able to
prepare vessel appraisals for condition and value in the
purchase or sale of vessels. You will also be able
to assist insurance companies in obtaining an insurance
value and a "to do" list to make the vessel insurable.
A great prerequisite to insurance adjusting.

Fundamentals of the Damage and Claims Survey
- To prepare a marine
surveyor in general practice with the necessary knowledge and
skills in order to determine and report the nature, cause and
extent of damage to a yacht or small craft.

License Training
- Licensing programs are offered to the
maritime professional who has the time on the water, but
not the credential. Taught by experienced
instructors, these courses prepare the student with the
skills, training and testing to pursue licenses from the
OUPV - Operator of an Uninspected Passenger Vessel up to
Master 200 Gross Tons. This training may also
include Assistance Towing and/or Auxiliary Sail
Endorsement.

Compliance Programs - Designed to
help the maritime professional to move steadily through
the stages of deck hand to deck officer. They are
in response also to STCW - 95, the standards for US
Coast Guard approval, IMO compliance and the ISPS code.
