The Chapman School Campus

The Chapman School of Seamanship is located near Stuart, Florida on the southeast coast of the state, 40 miles north of West Palm Beach, 110 miles north of Miami. The School's waterfront campus occupies 9 acres on the Manatee Pocket in the village of Port Salerno, about 3 nautical miles from the St. Lucie Inlet which opens to the Atlantic Ocean.
The Chapman Campus offers you the opportunity to live and study in a learning community atmosphere.  The students who live and study here are all working towards the same goals whether recreational or professional.  As a part of this community, you and your classmates can work together to achieve your maritime skills.  The maritime industry is relatively small and many students develop friendships that last over the years.

The Chapman School is a full service boat school and maintains a fleet of power and sailing vessels for teaching practical, underway boating skills.

The campus classrooms are air conditioned for year round comfort.

Our on-campus accommodations provide air conditioned apartments which include a kitchen, bath, bedroom, dining area, living room and covered porch. A laundry room and  large swimming pool with sun-deck and covered patio are available for student use.

As a student, you can take advantage of all the area has to offer for recreation and relaxation. Stuart, "the sailfish capital of the world," and the nearby Atlantic provide opportunities for sport fishing.  Nearby Lake Okeechobee offers bass fishing.  Jensen Beach to the North and Jupiter to the South are a haven for loggerhead turtle nesting.  There are also wonderful restaurants, local theaters, beautiful beaches, and other attractions for your enjoyment. No matter what part of the country you live in, we're sure you'll find our part of the country to your liking . . . and then some.
